The exclusive use of chlorine-free bleached paper made from renewable raw materials, printing inks, which were produced on the basis of renewable raw materials and without the use of mineral oils or solvents and printing auxiliaries of class A3 are a matter of course. Likewise, we use environmentally friendly materials for the building maintenance and avoid pesticides in the green area maintenance. Paper recycling and environmentally sound disposal of all ink residue and chemical waste by specialist companies with exact verification are self-evident.

Where possible, deliveries are not made immediately but put together to collective deliveries (weekly, every 14 days). Supplies for several departments of a company are bundled by corresponding IT processes and also combined in consolidated shipments. In this way, a significant reduction of packaging material can be achieved as well as savings in shipping charges. If the supply takes place periodically, we are using swap bodies on the basis of an appropriate agreement.

For sustainable forest management in order to protect wood as an indispensable raw material, we already have had ourselves certified (FSC-C017260) by FSC® and PEFC / CoC in 2009. For products with the seal the wood used for this purpose may come only from certified forests with a regularly examined and verified forest management which must be environmentally friendly, socially just and economically viable. The certification demonstrates that the sustainable forest management considers ecological, economic and social criteria equally. Each company is an important link within the processing chain of the wood, from its forest origin through to the finished product. The certification of this product chain (Chain of Custody) allows ensuring the continuous traceability for the flow of the wood in the processing chain, from certified forests via the wood-working and processing facilities to the final product.

In 2014, we switched our production from silver halide printing plates to process-free printing plates. Thus, it became necessary to acquire an imagesetter. In this way, we improve environmental protection in two areas.

Due to the process-free printing plate, the use of developing chemicals can be eliminated completely. In addition, a processing machine with high energy consumption is no longer needed. Even fresh water consumption has been drastically reduced due to this change. By using the new energy-efficient and low-maintenance platesetter we can also reduce energy costs and the number of maintenance operations.

In 2014 we converted our fleet and replaced two diesel vehicles by two electric cars. We thereby avoid CO2 emissions and contribute to the reduction of environmental noise exposure from road traffic.
